On Wednesday morning we headed off to town to do errands. But went a bit earlier than usual. To save on bus fare we got a ride up with my mum when she was heading to work. So we were in town just after 8am.
We headed to the Otepuni gardens on the edge of the city centre to fill in some time before the shops actually opened.
I loved seeing the gardens at that time of day. The dew on the grass untouched.
The cool crispness in the air from the night, so refreshing to breathe in deeply.
The kiddos played hide and seek. I enjoyed the moment. Soaked them in. My surroundings.
I want to go back again with no kids one morning. Maybe with coffee and my camera. A book. Just sit back and let the day settle in around me.
I also think surprising the kids with a morning picnic at a park would be fun. I don't often do early in the day adventures. But I really enjoyed it. I love the feel or the world as its waking up around me. Maybe there is a little morning person in me yet.
The gardens actually go on for quite a few blocks. I used to walk a good length of it almost daily going to work way back in the day.
This particular area was and is my favourite. I used to sometimes bring a book and a drink and just sit here. We are blessed to have some lovely gardens and parks in Invercargill.

wonderful photos! Sounds like a fun morning :)
It really was Tracy. Trying to find more adventures in our day to day life. This was so simple but so different from our usual. We all enjoyed it.
